About Us

London Architecture Tours was founded by Nick Edwards.

Nick is an experienced Architectural Tour Guide. Since studying Architecture, he has spent most of his career working in formal and informal education demystifying built environment processes, changing perceptions and advocating for the role that communities can play in shaping and caring for their neighbourhoods.

Nick co-founded and led Fundamental Architectural inclusion 2003-2014, an architecture centre based in East London working locally, regionally and nationally with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities funded by the Commission of Architecture and the Built Environment. In partnership with the Olympic Delivery Authority, London Legacy Development Corporation, AECOM, Olympic Host Boroughs and other stakeholders’ programmes were specifically designed to involve the local community and young people in London 2012 and it’s Legacy. Working at this level on the architecture and legacy master planning has given Nick unique access to a wealth of knowledge about the Queen Elizabeth Park and the emerging Legacy City which he now enjoys sharing through expert tours, lectures and school field trips.

Nick has experience delivering a wide range of bespoke architecture tours providing case study field trips across regeneration, housing, office design and general contemporary architecture, construction technology, engineering and infrastructure in London. Nick is also a trained Historic Tour Guide, and always includes the historic evolution of London and the history of the specific location when writing and devising his tours.

Nick is also an Open City Tour Guide delivering two of their regular Public Tours Events and Tours — Open City (open-city.org.uk) and mentors trainee guides as part of their Golden Key Academy Golden Key Academy — Open City (open-city.org.uk)
